So I was thinking about last weeks post on a new London tube map seethe post here and I was thinking how the orignal design by Harry Becks ( wikipedia link) had effected other designs of transport maps around the world.
I am a believer when it comes to things like this that the simpler the better or the Kiss design principle (keep it simple stupid) the more complicated the design the harder it is to find your way around .
I believe the bellow examples show this inaction to some degree or another the tokyo Mettro map however can be some what confusing to look at I feel it seems that as much information as possible has been fitted on to one map
All seem to show some degree of design taken from or inspired harry beck’s london underground tube map.
What I find particularly interesting is that while Becks’ design is now hailed for the simplistic genius that it bears, it was originally dismissed by his bosses for being incorrect.

Daft hey but near enough every where I’ve traveled it seems to be a staple in simplistic transport map design
